News Release Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation and the Health Care Foundation Announce Fourth Annual Bust a Move™

St. John’s, NL: The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation and the Health Care Foundation are excited to announce that the fourth annual Bust a Move™ St. John’s will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Newfoundland Sports Centre. The Foundations are proud to continue their partnership on this exciting event that will now support important patient programs in health care.

Funds raised will enable the Health Care Foundation and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation to continue to support patients and their families through the Comfort in Care™ Program and the Patient and Family Support Fund. Your efforts will bring comfort to thousands of patients and family members - when they need it the most.

“Right now, one of the areas of greatest need for us as a Foundation is our Patient and Family Support Fund,” said Lynette Hillier, Executive Director of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. “Last year alone, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation’s disbursed over $138,200 to 470 cancer patients and their families through our Patient and Family Support Fund.  We are excited to partner on Bust a Move this year and to raise funds in support of cancer patients and their families who face financial difficulty as a result of their cancer diagnosis.”

“Our Comfort in Care™ program invests in comfort items that make a major difference in the lives of our patients and their families,” said Paul Snow, President and CEO of the Health Care Foundation. “Maybe it’s a sleeper chair that allowed you to stay comfortably near your family member when they were most vulnerable or a warm blanket that provided you with relaxation and comfort when you needed it most – these items play a very significant role in the overall care experience. We are proud to partner once again to offer Bust a Move and to raise vitally needed funds that will support our patients’ well-being, comfort and care.”

Bust a Move™ continues to be about proactive wellness including being fit, eating well and focusing on healthy living. It is about investing in wellness and beating illness through dedication to overall proactive health. Registration for Bust a Move 2015 opened today on www.bustamovestjohns.ca.
