About the Health Care Foundation

The Health Care Foundation is a philanthropic partner to Eastern Health that supports adult hospitals and facilities within the St. John’s region, including:

These facilities provide specialized health care to thousands of residents throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Health Care Foundation was established in 2002 when the General Hospital Foundation, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital Foundation and the Waterford Foundation were brought together to form one foundation in support of the adult hospitals and health facilities of St. John’s. We are a registered non-profit organization governed by a volunteer-led board of directors.

During the 2015/16 fiscal year, we transferred more than $2.1 million to Eastern Health to fund vital medical equipment, technology, items that enhance patient care, research and education. It is our privilege to work with the people of Newfoundland and Labrador to raise money that provides our health care professionals and specialists with the equipment and tools they need to provide high quality patient care.
