Planning a Legacy Gift

A planned gift, also known as a legacy gift, is a donation which is promised today to be given in the future. Such gifts include a bequest in a will or proceeds from a life insurance policy. A properly planned gift will help you support the future needs of health care, while maximizing tax benefits and creating a legacy. One of the main benefits of a planned gift is that it will not affect your current financial resources.

Planned giving is usually part of an overall financial and estate plan. It is recommended that you receive advice from a professional advisor to ensure that you receive the maximim tax and legal benefits allowed for your gift.

You can be assured that your gift will be used in a timely manner to benefit patient care. Legacy gifts may be left to the area of greatest need or designated to support a specific hospital or a particular aspect of health care. Paul Snow is available at (709) 777.5905 to provide legacy gift options and information on the needs within our hospitals. All discussions are held in the strictest confidence and do not require any commitment.
