About Us
The Health Care Foundation was established in 2002 when the General Hospital Foundation, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital Foundation and the Waterford Foundation were brought together to form one foundation, to support the adult hospitals and health facilities of St. John’s. We are a registered non-profit organization governed by a volunteer-led board of directors.
The Health Care Foundation helps the following hospitals and health centres:
- General Hospital (Health Sciences Centre)
- St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital
- Waterford Hospital
- Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre
- Dr. Walter Templeman Health Centre (Bell Island)
Together, these hospitals receive approximately one million patient encounters each year, and are the specialized health centre for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
It is our privilege to work with the people of Newfoundland and Labrador to raise money to provide our health care professionals and specialists with the equipment and tools they need to provide high quality patient care. We are also proud to fund local health research and education.
Thank you for working together with us for better health care.
